Rich haul by TN Police karate team (15-18 Oct-09)
One fine evening I received call from South Africa, was bit eager to seen that number. Because my Brother-in-Law (Senthil Kumar) went in to participating Common Wealth Karate Championships, 2009. The news I got that, he won the bronze middle in the single championship and looks like he missed the gold in 4 points, but he was delighted. Am glad too because Senthil uses to talk about these kind of international tournaments and his dreams on participating for his department and demonstrating for the country.
Tamil Nadu Police who received about a dozen medals in the 5th Commonwealth Karate Championship held in South Africa two weeks ago called on Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Friday. Mr Karunanidhi congratulated them.

Aside from the gold, the team bagged three silver and eight bronze medals.
The medal winners are: N. Mohan (gold), M. Samiya Sulthana, K. Dhanam, J. Motcharakkini (all silver), R. Parandhaman, R. Tamilselvan, M. Dhanasekaran, K. Senthil Kumar, J. Nagarajan, P. Dharmaraj and A. Marimuthu (two) (all bronze).
The team was felicitated by the DGP K.P. Jain. Also present was the Chief of Special Task Force, C. Sylendrababu, who had prepared the team for the championship.
